PAR CARNIVAL WEEK 2009

It doesn't seem like twelve months ago, but Carnival week is upon us again. I would like to thank everyone for their support throughout the year which has enabled us to organise a fun, if somewhat shorter, Carnival week this year. This is our 46th Carnival and each year it seems to be getting harder and harder to stage due to bureaucracy and red tape.

Carnival week kicks off with the now infamous Auction Night at the Welcome Inn with lots of goodies to buy at ridiculous prices. Other events during the week will include a Car Treasure Hunt, Children's Treasure Hunt, Bingo, Children's Sports Evening, Darts Competition, Quiz Evening and other events that the local Taverns have organised for themselves. Unfortunately due to the rising cost of insurance and the Brass Band the Floral Dance has had to be withdrawn from Carnival week. However, Saturday will still be a day to remember with lots of stalls, displays and fun at the Fete followed by the Grand Carnival Parade in the evening. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

The Carnival Committee has once again worked very hard to organise this week of events and I hope you will all show your appreciation by joining in and helping us raise lots of money for our local charities and Youth Groups. If you are able to help out in any way please don't be shy, make yourself known to a committee member or contact me directly. As I have said lots of times - many hands make light work'.

Sadly, on a personal note, this will be my last year as the Chairman. I am taking a break from proceedings for a while after having spent many enjoyable years on the Committee. I would like to thank all Committee Members, both past and present, for all their support over the last three years of my Chairmanship and wish them all the best for the future.
And thank you to the people of Par for putting up with me. Wishing you all an enjoyable,
fun filled Carnival Week.

Events 2009 - UPDATE 9 4 2009 - The events list has been updated

Winners amd Runners up 2008

UPDATE 21 7 2008 - Thx to all those who took part in the Carnival on Saturday both public an participants - we can confirm that the public donations to the buckets and pots we all took around has raised an amazing £992.47

UPDATE 13 7 2008 - Thx to all those who attended last night's Auction and fun night + Disco - we are still waiting on final figures but it looks like we raised nearly £1000
